It’s amazing that people wonder why our children have such terrible test scores. The “disrespectful” student in the video should have been teaching the class.
The student had the nerve to ask his teacher, “Didn’t Obama bully someone?” The teacher exploded, shrieking and stumbling over her words with grammar so poor, it made me wonder how she ever made it past 8th grade. To know that people like this woman are “qualified” to teach and mold our children is horrifying. But to be completely honest, I did laugh, partially from disbelief and discomfort, and partially due to the utter stupidity and the fact that it was caught on tape.
A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods, to create an idealized and heroic public image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. Sociologist Max Weber developed a tripartite classification of authority; the cult of personality holds parallels with what Weber defined as “charismatic authority“. A cult of personality is similar to hero worship, except that it is established by mass media and propaganda.
Speaking of propaganda, the NDAA FY13 is worse than last year, leaving the controversial indefinite military detention of Americans without charge or trial (even though POTUS B.O. says he would never use it) and allowing “Psychological Operations” and propaganda specifically aimed at Americans. They’re just codifying more of the criminal tactics they’ve been using for decades. If people would read some books, follow foreign policy and listen to the (sometimes creepy) foreign policy experts (Brzezinski, Kissinger), watch global trends in policy making, specifically environmental and economic, as well as monitor NGOs and similarities in NGO-proposed policy and the laws the “U.S.” government passes, they would see that global governance is not a conspiracy, but the long-expected, some would say inevitable, outcome of a world with such advanced information and communication technology.
