I had missed this incident, reported on April 25th by CBS about a 7 year old girl with cerebral palsy being aggressively patted-down by the TSA, which caused her family to miss their flight. The TSA, as usual, defends their decision, using deception again when they say it was a modified pat-down. A clear description of a modified pat-down does not exist. They modified PROCEDURES, like allowing kids to leave their shoes on, multiple passes through strip-search scanners and medical detectors, and explosive trace detection, which can involve lifting up your children’s clothing, but they did not modify the pat-downs, and the groping has continually been reported to be just as disgustingly invasive as the molestation inflicted upon those 12 and over.
“TSA has reviewed the incident and determined that our officers followed proper screening procedures in conducting a modified pat-down on the child.”
We need some major demonstrations of civil disobedience when it comes to the TSA, but there is progress in small victories too. If something like this happens to you and your children, DO NOT LET IT PERSIST. Stop the procedure. Say you would rather not fly than allow someone to abuse your child. Let them threaten you with the $10,000 fines; I don’t think the courts have followed through with them for incidents like this . Let them know you will take legal action. Recite your Fourth Amendment. Tell them touching your child like that is illegal, and not even a police officer could touch them that way without reasonable suspicion. Even those searches are generally less invasive, as they are supposed to only be searching for weapons via a quick surface search of the outer layers of clothing. You yourself are permitted to do so only with good cause (like your child has been attacked by fire ants and you’re trying to remove them).
And just in case you were not already aware, the government has always known the airport irradiating naked body scanners are useless. In the following video you will see just how easy it is to get something made out of ANY material through the scanners. The TSA has never denied it, but called it a crude attempt made by “some guy,” never mentioning this “some guy” is scientist Johnathan Corbett, and said it was just “one layer of our 20 other layers of security.” Well, homeboy’s “crude” attempt made it through all 20 layers of security, TWICE. TSA, schooled once again. It’s time for this scum to go back to the sewers from which they came. This includes the rats that created this bloated bureaucracy. ENOUGH.
